The whole point is that you stop taking notes. Tap record from the Hub agent chat or right on a person’s record, and the conversation gets to be the focus again — Tagup captures the audio in the background while you make eye contact, ask the follow-up question, listen for what they meant rather than what you wrote down. When something is too important to leave to memory, jot a quick rich-text note inline — it stays with the tagup and feeds smart notes and action items afterward.

Frequently Asked Questions
What’s a “tagup” in the app?
A tagup is one logged conversation — a 1:1, a client call, a coffee — with its notes and, if you recorded it, the transcript, pinned to the person it was with. String them together and you get a relationship you can actually see: a timeline of every conversation, what was said, and what was promised.
Does Tagup actually listen to my meetings?
Only when you press record. You decide which conversations to capture — and by default, Tagup won’t record a contact until they’ve approved it through the built-in consent flow. Once a recording is transcribed, the audio itself is automatically and permanently deleted; only the transcript is kept. Transcripts are yours — delete them any time, never used to train any external model, and never sent anywhere unless you choose to share a specific conversation with the person in it.
Do I need someone’s permission to record them?
By default, yes — and Tagup sends the request and keeps track of the answer. From a contact’s profile you send a recording-consent request stating who you are and your purpose; the contact decides from their email, and can allow, decline, or change their mind at any time. Until they allow it, recording that contact is blocked — unless you tell Tagup you already have their permission, which is saved as your own dated statement, kept apart from their answer. Every decision is time-stamped in an audit history — but obtaining any consent the law requires is always your responsibility. Does the person I record need a Tagup account?
No. Approval requests arrive by email, and non-users get a unique, sign-in-free link to a private consent page covering every Tagup user who has asked to record them. If they later sign up with the same email, their choices simply appear in their account settings — nothing to redo.
Can Tagup record a video or phone call?
Today Tagup records through your microphone, which covers everything the room can hear — a coffee, a desk-side 1:1, a call on speaker — and the transcript still labels who said what. On a headset call, browsers only hand a web app the microphone and never the audio coming back from your speakers, so the other person’s side won’t be captured. That’s a limit of the browser, not of Tagup: Tagup for Desktop is in development now and records both sides of a call directly.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, you can export any contact’s full history as a document any time, and when you cancel, your account goes read-only for 30 days and is then deleted with everything in it. We don’t sell, share, or train external models on your relationship data.
